How to use English Ninjas Effectively
Learn about English Ninjas content
When you first subscribe, the best thing to do is familiarize yourself with our content. English Ninjas offers many articles for basic English, business English, news articles, and articles based on occupation. Review the articles to get an understanding of what you would like to discuss with your tutor when you start your sessions.
Choose a tutor
Once you have chosen the type of content you want to go over with your tutor, the next step you should take is browse tutor profiles. Most students choose tutors based on the information written in tutor profiles and the introduction video of the tutor. Based on what the tutor specializes in, you can check their schedule to find their availability for the week.
Set an Appointment with your Tutor
If you find that you are unable to make a booking with a specific tutor, it is best that you send a message to the tutor and tell them about yourself. Introduce yourself and let the tutor know how you want to improve your English. Give them details about your learning style, career, what types of hobbies you have, and what your goals are for learning. Your goals may be to get a new job, improve your score on a TOEFL or IELTS exam, or you may just want a friend to have a conversation with.
Be prepared for your lesson
When starting your first sessions with a new tutor. Have your list of objectives ready to present to the tutor so they can know where to take the lesson. The more information you provide to the tutor about how you want to learn and what you want to learn, this will make the conversation go smoother and understanding each other will be much easier.
Once you have had your lesson or in the last few minutes, be sure to provide feedback to the tutor on what you liked or disliked about your lesson. Honesty is the best policy and with honest feedback, both you and the tutor will know what to do for next time in order to have the best session. Ask the tutor what you need to do in order to reach your goals when working together.
If you did not like the session, tell the tutor why you did not think it was an effective lesson. If you liked the sessions, tell the tutor what they did correctly so they can do the same thing again. If you have trouble with direct feedback, you should write to our customer support team who can help provide feedback to the tutors. It is not always easy to tell someone how to be better, so our customer support team can help in these situations.
