Q: What is English Ninjas?

A: English Ninjas is a web and mobile platform which allows you to practice your speaking skills with tutors who are native speakers of English.


Q: What will the tutors talk to me about?

A: After assessing your skills in English, our tutors choose discussion topics at different levels of complexity to converse with you. To a great extent, our tutors direct the conversation. In order for you to improve your speaking skills in English, our tutors will be asking you questions about anything from your day-to-day to professional life. You will have the opportunity to talk about a wide range of topics.


Q: How can I find the most suitable tutor for my needs?

A: You will find introductory videos on our tutors’ profile pages. These videos will help you form an opinion on each tutor’s area(s) of expertise. Additionally, you will be able to view the tutors’ personal interests, teaching experience and areas of expertise on their profile pages. Upon acquiring all this information, you are welcome to have short conversations with the tutors you are interested in and find out with whom you would like to have sessions.


Q: Do I need to pay to subscribe to English Ninjas?

A: You can become a member of English Ninjas for free. Once you sign up to become a member, you will instantly have 5 complimentary minutes. Using this 5-minute allowance, you will be able to have an understanding on how English Ninjas works. Once your 5-minute trial runs out, you can purchase one of our annual subscription packages.


Q: May I talk to whichever tutor I prefer?

A: Yes, you are welcome to talk to any tutor you choose. You also have the option to end a session at any time and start a new session with a different tutor.


Q: I don’t speak any English at all. Is English Ninjas a suitable platform for me?

A: If you are an absolute beginner, we recommend that you start using English Ninjas after making some progress in English. Our tutors will be speaking to you in English on a regular basis in order to help you improve your speaking skills. It would be more beneficial for you to practice your English upon acquiring the most fundamental basics of the English language.


Q: Are the unused minutes in my paid subscription package added to the next day?

A: In the paid subscription packages, you get an annual subsciption for a certain amount of minutes per day. Your minutes will be available for every weekday for an entire year. However, the daily available minutes can only be used on that day. The next day, only the minutes you have for that day will be available. Your unused minutes from the previous day will not be rolled over and added to another day’s minutes.


Q: How will I be paying for the annual subscription package?

A: You can only pay the annual subscription fee by credit card.


Q: Once I subscribe for an annual package, is the payment for the entire year withdrawn from my credit card right away?

A: No. The entire annual fee is neither withdrawn from your credit card at once, nor do we put a block on your credit card limit. The monthly fee is withdrawn from your credit card on a monthly basis.


Q: I have purchased an annual subscription package but I would like to switch to a different package. What should I do?

A: You may send your request for a change of subscription package via e-mail to help@englishninjas.com from the e-mail address you used while subscribing. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to your request.


Q: I have an annual subscription package but would like to purchase additional minutes. What should I do?

A: You may send your request for additional minutes via e-mail to help@englishninjas.com from the e-mail address you used while subscribing. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to you.


Q: Do I have the option to freeze my subscription package?

A: Yes, you may freeze your subscription. Once you do this, minutes will not be added to your English Ninjas account as of the following month and the monthly fee will not be charged to your credit card. You will be able to freeze your subscription for a maximum period of six months only once. After six months, your subscription will automatically become active again. You may send your request to freeze your account via e-mail to help@englishninjas.com from the e-mail address you used while subscribing. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to you.


Q: May I transfer my annual subscription package to a friend?

A: Yes. You may transfer your subscription package to whomever you wish. You may send your transfer request via e-mail to help@englishninjas.com from the e-mail address you used while subscribing. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to you.


Q: May I cancel my annual subscription package?

A: You may cancel your annual subscription package only within the first 15 days of your initial subscription purchase. In that case, only the fee for the period of time you used will be withdrawn from your credit card and the rest will be reimbursed to your credit card. You may send your cancellation request via e-mail to help@englishninjas.com from the e-mail address you used while subscribing. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to you.


Q: I am unable to initiate a session on my computer. Why?

A: Please check your internet connection. If there seems to be no problem on your connection, please make sure to turn off or close all applications and/or download processes that may slow down your internet connection. If the problem persists, please report it in an e-mail to help@englishninjas.com. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to you.


Q: The person on the other side can’t seem to hear me. Why?

A: If you are using the mobile app, please make sure that you have granted access to the English Ninjas app to use your phone’s microphone. You may check microphone permissions on the settings menu of your device. If you are using the web application on your computer, please make sure that your microphone is on. You may also be experiencing this problem if your internet connection is not fast enough. If that’s the case, please try to turn off or close the apps that might slow down your internet connection. If the problem persists, please report it in an e-mail to help@englishninjas.com. Our customer service representatives will swiftly respond to you.


Q: The tutor mentioned that s/he is unable to see me. Why?

A: If you are using the mobile app, please make sure that you have granted access to the English Ninjas app to use your phone’s camera. You may check camera permissions on the settings menu of your device. If you are using the web application on your computer, please make sure that your camera is on. You may also be experiencing this problem if your internet connection is not fast enough. If that’s the case, please try to turn off or close the apps that might slow down your internet connection. Q: Why does the system only work on Google Chrome internet browser?

A: Video connections on the English Ninjas platform are established using the WebRTC technology. Unfortunately, internet browsers other than Google Chrome does not support the WebRTC technology as effectively. For this reason, while using English Ninjas on the web on a computer, the system only works on Google Chrome.


Q: I am unable to hear the tutor’s voice. Why?

A: If you are using the mobile app, please make sure that you have the volume up. If you are using the web application on your computer, please make sure that your speakers are connected to your computer and are turned on. You may also be experiencing this problem if your internet connection is not fast enough. If that’s the case, please try to turn off or close the apps that might slow down your internet connection. Q: I am unable to see the tutor. Why?

A: You may be experiencing this problem if your internet connection is not fast enough. If that’s the case, please try to turn off or close the apps that might slow down your internet connection. Q: I keep getting disconnected. Why?

Q: May I delete my recorded videos?

A: Yes. You may go to your history page and delete the recorded videos you wish to delete.


Q: I don’t want my videos to be recorded. What should I do?

A: You may turn off the video recording permission in the “Settings” section of your profile page.


Q: I don’t want my name and surname to be displayed. What should I do?

A: You may turn off the permission to display name and surname in the “Settings” section of your profile page.


Q: I forgot my password. What should I do?

A: You may request to renew your password by clicking on the “I forgot my password” link on the English Ninjas member sign-in screen.
